“Pete’s Daily Connection”

Woof Wednesday

Hi guys! It’s me, Oscar the Beagle.

You would not believe this thing they got me for my bronchitis! I think I told you before that I have chronic bronchitis. Grammy and Grampy give me a new medicine twice a day. Grampy says if this keeps up I have to get a part time job to help with the bills.

When things get really bad I get something called a “breathing treatment.” There’s this medicine that goes into a mask and this hose that goes into a machine that blows air and turns the medicine into — like fog —- and I’m supposed to breathe it. Crazy huh? I feel like “Astro Pup” ready to go into space! It does feel better though. Grammy says it opens my airway and let’s the yuck come out of my lungs. How do you like that picture I just painted?

Things are going okay here at the house. Grammy and Grampy went to visit the baby this week so we’re hanging with Uncle Matt. Playing guitar, singing songs and helping with his “Business Law” homework. When the questions get really hard I go and look for Cheez Its.

Our neighbor took down his Halloween decorations the other day. He had some scary stuff! I guess everyone will decorate for Christmas soon. Let me get this straight: That’s when you put lights OUTSIDE and bring a tree INSIDE. I never could understand that.

There’s actually a few things I don’t understand:

On Halloween, when strange people came to the door, I WASN’T supposed to bark?

Every now and then, Grammy says, “Oscar! You could clear a room!” What did I do? I don’t get it.

When Grampy drops something when he’s cooking he yells, “Oscar, clean up!” Any other time when I lick the floor he says “Bad boy!” Hello?

Last weekend our meal time changed! Nobody asked me about this! Baxter and I started getting excited for supper but the humans said we had to wait an hour. I don’t understand time changes. I’ve never had a watch. All I know is Grammy said she can’t go out and play anymore after supper.

Grampy let me out before supper the other day and I paused at the door because someone turned the sun off.

Everything straightened out by the middle of the week so I guess we’ll be okay.

Oh, Uncle Matt has more homework. Let’s just hope he has more Cheez Its.
