“Pete’s Daily Connection”

Woof Wednesday

In my own defense (Yeah, it’s another one of those weeks), sometimes he puts mini muffins in there.

Hi guys! It’s me, Oscar the Beagle. Last weekend I got into Grampy’s backpack. He wasn’t happy.

Grampy has a backpack that he takes to all the games where he’s the broadcaster guy, whatever that means. Maybe it’s like being a Mascot. He has paper, pens, highlighters, hand warmers, binocular thingies, and sometimes he packs another sweatshirt, a bottle of water and….. here’s my point…… snacks in case it’s a long game.

So last weekend Grammy and Grampy went out and I got bored and hungry. Actually, I’m always hungry so we’ll just say I got bored. I went sniffing around his desk and I found the backpack on the floor. Some of the pockets were unzipped so I figured that was an invitation. Am I right?

I chewed on his pen but that wasn’t too good. I got the notebook but that was bland. I couldn’t find the mini muffins. I even chewed the top off a yellow highlighter to which Grammy said, “It’ll be easy to find your poop in the yard tomorrow.” I don’t know what that means.

Anyway, I chewed through one of the pockets because I thought the mini muffins were there but …. no. For whatever reason there were no mini muffins. He must have had a long game.

Grammy and Grampy came home around supper time. I later found out they went to a Cupcake place. I might add they came home with only ONE for Uncle Matt. Hello??? Am I not a family member? And what about my buddy Baxter? Needless to say they weren’t happy about the backpack. Hey, I wasn’t happy about the lack of Cupcakes!

They picked up all the pieces and then Grampy ordered a new backpack and he says the zipper is even tougher to get into. Challenge accepted!

Oh a lesson learned: Don’t chew up the whole roll of Scotch tape. It was stuck in my teeth for at least an hour.

Other than that, everything is fine here at the house. I guess that Halloween thing is this week. I’m not sure but I think that’s when the little humans dress in funny clothes and go up to houses to get candy. Every other night you tell them not to talk to strangers but on this one night they can do it for candy. I don’t quite understand that, but I guess I don’t understand a lot of human things.

Baxter and I don’t usually get to see any of the kids. We have to go upstairs in the bedroom so Baxter won’t BARK every time there’s a knock at the door. I would just run to the door to see the costumes and maybe stick my head in the candy bowl.

Usually after supper on Halloween Grampy takes a doggie cookie and tries to get us to go upstairs. That’s the only night of the year he brings a cookie upstairs. Hmmm, interesting.

Oh well, have a good week and enjoy that kids and candy night. Grampy usually likes it if there is some candy left over. He SAYS dogs can’t have chocolate but he has yet to show me that in writing.

Maybe I’ll see if there’s any in his backpack.
