”Raising Grampy” And A Summer Of Fun

Hello Peoples! It’s me, Carson.

Have you had a great summer? I have. Grampy told me to tell you I’ve had a — what did he call it? Oh yeah! A “wicked cool summah.” He said if I’m going to grow up in New England I better learn the lingo. I don’t know what “lingo” is but he says I have to learn it.

I think I told you about my first birthday party and my baptism thing where all my uncles, aunties and cousins came to visit. That was lots of fun.

We did so many things!

Have you ever tried this thing called “Ice Cream?” Grampy was right. That stuff is wicked awesome.

Grampy had a big birthday.

He turned…ah…old. My cousin Liam and I got shirts to match Grampy. Well, actually my mommy got them. I think we should wear these shirts every year for his birthday. That’s if Grampy’s still fits him. That guy does like his ice cream.

Let’s see, what else did I do?

I went to the beach a lot with Mommy and Grammy.

I played with my water table when it was hot. My mommy even tried to climb in my water table on one of those hot days.

I went on a Merry-Go-Round at a zoo and discovered this thing called a trampoline. The floor bounces! My floor doesn’t bounce. I guess that place needs to hire my daddy to get the bounce out.

I went to a place called the New England Aquarium. (Grampy helps me with my spelling.)

There were a lot of fishies. Big ones too!

Daddy started teaching me this game called “golf.”

Grampy asked Daddy, “How come your shots don’t go straight?” Maybe Dad should use my club.

Oh! The other day it was Superhero Day at the library! I got a cape!

Grampy was, what do they call it? Jealous! Yeah, that’s it. I did that FaceTime thing that night and he said, “How come I don’t have a cape?” Silly Grampy!

We did so many fun things this summer. This was my first summer you know, even though Mommy says it was techanically my second. I couldn’t do much at that first one Mom!

I hope you had a great summer.

Mommy has to go back to work soon. She works with athletic peoples at a high school. She’s kinda sad about that but you know what that means? More fun with Grammy, Grampy and my Gigi! I never know what the big guy has in store for me.

Don’t worry Mommy! I got plenty of hugs to give when you get home at night.

But yeah…I just need a little nap here.

Raising Grampy” is an occasional series looking at the world through the eyes of Pete’s grandson Carson. 1-year old Carson lives in Acushnet with his mommy, daddy and puppy Kenzie.
