Guess who’s back? No, not Grampy. He’s been here. Usually in his chair. Making Grampy noises.
My daddy’s here!
My daddy has been away with the Navy on a big boat since the summertime. Mommy used to email him every day and sometimes I could talk to him on the FaceTime thing but now he’s RIGHT HERE!
Mommy and I went to the airport to pick him up this week. I don’t know why we went to the airport since he was on a boat. I thought the boat was just going to pull up to the beach near Grammy’s house.
He was so happy to see me! I think he missed mommy too.
We picked him up and then drove back to Grammy and Grampy’s house. Mom said I talked all the way but hey, I had a lot to tell him.
When we got back to the house, daddy liked the signs I made him.
Then I had to show him around the house and tell him where everything was. (Note from Grampy: “It’s a beach cottage so it didn’t take long.”)
I showed him all my toys and tried to get him to play a game with me but Grampy said daddy was probably tired because he had come a long way from some place called Paris. I don’t know where that is. Maybe the next town over?
I guess we’re all going to stay with Grammy and Grampy for a little bit longer then we’re going to Disney World to celebrate before we go to our new house in Texas. Maybe that’s near Paris?
I thought today I would take a walk to the beach with daddy because I don’t think he’s seen the ocean in awhile. (Daddy? Why did you just roll your eyes?)
I have so many things to catch him up on since he’s been away so long. I had to introduce him to “Paw Patrol” and show him the new episodes of “Bluey.” He’s missed a lot! I guess they don’t watch “Paw Patrol” on aircraft carriers.
Tonight we’re going to a nice restaurant because daddy said he would really like some “good” food. I guess the food on the ship wasn’t that good. He had to go buy new pants the other day because his were too big now.
Okay so I think I’m going to settle down with Grampy and watch some “Bluey.” I’m tired! It’s exhausting filling daddy in on what we’ve been up to while he’s been on his cruise. I’m just glad he can help take care of mommy now. It was tough doing all that work by myself!
“Raising Grampy” is a look at the world through the eyes of 3-year old Liam. Liam, Sarah (and now Steven) are staying with Pete and Priscilla until they move to Texas soon. Welcome home sailor and thanks for your service!
