Woof Wednesday: Oscar Tries FaceTime

Hi guys! It’s me, Oscar the Beagle.

Last week we tried this thing called Face Time with grampy. Remember he’s at Sarah’s house. That’s the long car ride to a place called Virginia Beach which, I don’t understand why he goes there. We have a great beach right here. But, he goes. I guess he likes that one better.

Where was I? Oh, Face Time. So Grammy was holding the phone and kept saying, “Look! Say hi to grampy.” I had no idea where I was supposed to look. I went to the back door, I went to the front door, no grampy. That’s like when we’re watching that big picture box in the living room and they say, “Look at the puppy! Do you see the puppy?” There has never been a puppy in the house when they say that. I think my humans are getting old.

Yeah grampy is down there taking care of Sarah’s two dogs while she and another human go on a vacation or something. I don’t quite know what to call them. I guess they’re my brothers because Sarah is my mom but I’m older and I would feel like an uncle if I knew what an uncle was.

Their names are Luke and Yoda. I don’t know where they came up with that. Luke is a mixed breed and huge like Baxter. Yoda is a Beagle like me and I feel like he’s my crazy nephew. I heard grampy tell Grammy that Yoda steals his socks and tries to eat everything. That’s my boy!

I miss grampy though, especially on these cold nights. What can I say, I’m a snuggler. I sleep in his spot and Baxter kind of does too. We’ve been able to stretch out on the bed but Grammy got upset the other night. I don’t see why because we gave her about 6 inches of bed space. She said something about it being a queen size bed and made it sound like she should have more. I don’t know. Maybe there’s a rule or something.

I think something happened last week because there was no Sunday Food Football thing. That’s usually when grammy and grampy get home from church, put on sweatpants and then friends come over and Uncle Matt yells at the picture box. And there’s food! Lots and lots of food! I don’t know if that’s ended. Does that mean no more special food on Sunday’s? I guess this week will be quiet in the house.

Well that’s all for this week. Grammy says we’re going to Face Time grampy again tonight. Maybe I’ll look upstairs. If I can’t find him maybe I’ll just bark at her hand. Humans: sometimes you have to humor them.
