“Pete’s Daily Connection”

Woof Wednesday

Hi guys! It’s me……Oscar the Beagle.

Wow! What a week it’s been and I don’t think it’s even done yet, but I don’t have a calendar. I wanted one, maybe with pictures of a steak on it. Yeah! No cats! I hate cats!

Where was I? Oh! This week.

Yesterday Grammy got me and Baxter ready for a ride but she tricked us. Yup, it was a ride to the Vet. Now I don’t usually mind going there because I usually just go to get my nails cut. A little mani/pedi for the puppy ya know?

This was no trip for the toe nails though: it was annual check up time. I hate annual check up time even if it does end with a cookie.

I got TWO shots; they stole some of my blood and they stuck the thermometer …….. well let’s just say it wasn’t pleasant.

I heard the doctor say one shot was for Lyme disease and the other was a distemper shot. I don’t know what lyme is but I think my temper is fine as long as I’m fed on time.

I don’t know why they took my blood. I guess the doctor doesn’t have enough. I hope I have enough. I don’t mind sharing my blood but that hurts. And I don’t even want to talk about the thermometer. I’m still having nightmares.

I guess I got a good report. The doctor said I was in good shape for an older Beagle and guess who needs a diet this time? It’s not this guy! Yup! Baxter needs to drop about 5 pounds I heard. Poor guy! Here comes more green beans! “I’ll eat the kibble for ya!”

Did you hear what grampy did? He tried baking cookies this weekend. They smelled terrific but I love having Captain Clutz back home.

Just when he was rolling the cookie dough into little balls HE DROPPED ONE! I can always count on the Clutz.

You know the rule: if it’s on the floor it belongs to….WHO? You got it! ME! He didn’t even try to pick it up, I just pounced on it. Baxter doesn’t even stand a chance. By the time he hears it, I ate it. It was really good. I tried to give him the sad puppy eyes to get more but he wouldn’t go for it.

The old guy is actually turning into a pretty good cook and I just love the clutziness.

Well It’s time for me to nap I guess. I think these shots they gave me make me sleepy. I haven’t had a nap in at least an hour.

Here’s hoping it’s not time for your yearly physical at the Vet. But if it is … just hope for snacks at the end.
