Have you made any plans?
Have you thought about all the things you want to do when this pandemic is over? Of course, first of all — take off this damn mask!
Actually I think the masks have helped this to be a quiet cold and flu season. Maybe we should keep them handy for when we have the sniffles.
Wanna get away?
One of the first things I want to do is take a trip. I don’t know if I really am seeing an increase in travel ads but there seems to be several on my Facebook page every day. I’m not talking about anything outrageous, I’m actually craving a getaway to the mountains of New Hampshire.
I can’t wait to go out to eat with friends, sit in a corner booth with another table nearby. I hope I have enough cash on me to leave a big tip because of all the money waitresses have lost.
Play ball!
My daughter Sarah said she can’t wait to go to a ballgame and have an over-priced hot dog with an over-priced beer.
She also wants to go to a concert. She doesn’t even care who is singing.
Amen!
I hope the first Sunday after the pandemic the church is packed like it is at Christmas or Easter and we can HUG our friends!
I look forward to the evening news doing stories about puppies because they have to fill the time now that there’s no longer an update on new cases, hospitalizations and the death toll.
Have you made any plans?
I look forward to children being back in the classroom. I also hope that parents who have been trying to oversee the remote classroom find a way to thank the teachers and let them know they’re appreciated.
Won’t it be great to have real fans at games instead of that canned applause we’ve been hearing? Actually, I wish they would let us hear how quiet it really is, maybe just once.
However…
One of the things I have enjoyed is having a routine check up on video. I know they don’t get all the tests you usually have to take but it’s more relaxing than driving there, parking and waiting in the waiting room.
Another treat has been the Zoom meetings. Again, no traffic or trying to find a parking space and pants were not required.
Conclusion
And maybe — just maybe — people will go back to being nice to each other. Lately it seems that everyone is uptight or mad. Obviously it might be because of the masks and the fear that I may be a carrier and you don’t want me anywhere near you. When it’s all done and Dr. Fauci and the others give us the “all clear,” what do you say we be ready with a smile or a kind word.
