Chapter 45
Hi everyone! It’s me, Liam, and boy have I been busy.
First the good news: my daddy did not have that Corona thing but he still had to stay home for that quarantine time. We had fun playing every day and watching Mickey Mouse. We even stayed in our jammies until lunch time once. HeHe!
The bad news is that my Uncle Dougie and Aunty Marla DID have that virus thing. I can’t go see them for a few weeks. We drove by their house to see their Christmas lights. They’re feeling better and they’re getting bored so they put up a lot of lights. Grampy thinks they will be okay because they’re both young and strong.
Guess who came back?
The other big news this week was that Grampy came back. Surprise! He went home for Thanksgiving! Yeah my daddy was home because of that quarantine thing, and then mommy had some time for Thanksgiving so they sent Grampy home to see Grammy. I think he liked it. He likes her you know.
Mommy and I did that FaceTime thing on Thanksgiving.
I had mashed potatoes on my head! Mommy said she had a pumpkin pie.
So I went to the airport last weekend and picked up Grampy. Mommy calls it the “L and S Limo Service.” It stands for “Liam” and – did you know my mommy’s name is “Sarah?” All this time I thought it was “mommy.”
Grampy said he was careful and wore a mask that Grammy got him and I guess he’s safe because he smelled like hand sanitizer.
I got to ride his suitcase!
Liam Decorates for the Holidays
Once we got back to the house mommy wanted to decorate. I got confused when she brought a tree IN the house.
This isn’t my first Christmas but I don’t remember much from last year. I think I slept a lot. This time I helped with the decorating.
Then I helped my mommy….
And then I helped my daddy.
I bet they’re glad I can help this year.
What is THIS?
After that, mommy put some bells on the door!
These are going to be fun! Grampy is already asking how many days until Christmas. Silly Grampy. I guess he really can’t wait.
I don’t know what these are but we certainly have a lot of them.
Ooh! And what’s THIS?
After we had all the stuff up, mommy took me over to see the tree and I found THIS guy!
I’m just learning the story but mommy said his name is “Jimithy” and he’s the “Elf on a Shelf.” I guess you can read his whole story here. Basically — he’s going to watch us and report back to Santa if we’ve been naughty or nice. I hope Grampy doesn’t mess this up for me. He gets loud sometimes watching “Jeopardy.”
I got up this morning and Jimithy was in a new hiding spot.
He even had the remote.
Anyway, I’m glad Grampy is back and the house is looking ready for Christmas. I can’t wait!
“Raising Grampy” is a look at the world through the eyes of Liam who is 1 year old. Liam lives in Virginia Beach with his mommy and daddy. Pete is visiting and playing the role of Grampnanny.
