Hi guys! It’s me….Oscar the Beagle.

I got in trouble the other day. Yeah. In my own defense (It seems I say that a lot), I thought that anything within my reach was fair game.

Grammy was cleaning out the refrigerator the other day, something I’ve offered to do for her several times. She took out a few containers that had been in that big box of cold air for several days. She would carry them over to the counter and then scoop them into the trash.

Wellllllll…..I recently discovered that if I stand on my hind legs…..I can get my head INTO the garbage can. I thought it was a neat and useful trick. Evidently Grammy does not agree.

She was scooping out some ham salad and I stuck my head in and grabbed about a handful. That’s a “human” handful as we don’t have any. Right.

Grammy was mad. I thought I was helping to cut down on the amount of trash on our planet (sound good?), but Grammy made me go in the other room where Grampy was watching football. She didn’t speak to me for the rest of the night though she did pet me a few times when we went to bed. It’s just so hard to stay mad at me, I know.

I can’t help It! I’m a Beagle! There’s food in my zipcode! I gotta have it!

Everything is back to normal now. Sarah took that baby thing back to Virginia so there’s no more crying and whining except for Grampy when he finished the Christmas cookies. We no longer have a tree growing in our living room, a custom that I have never understood. Now it’s sitting on the front lawn….sideways….I guess we’re celebrating another holiday. Grammy put that big Santa Claus thing away. Try to nap with THAT thing staring at you.

We’re back to our usual schedule of walks around the neighborhood, meal time and trying to steal Cheez Its from Uncle Matt’s room. The UPS guy doesn’t come as much so it’s just the mailman we have to guard against.

The sad thing is that Grammy isn’t baking as much now. For a while there seemed to be cookies and cupcakes every couple of days. Now it’s just Grampy cooking supper at night. I am happy to report that Captain Clutz continues to live up to his reputation.

So until next week I hope you’re all well. Don’t leave my furry friends out in the cold for long and don’t stick your head in the garbage. Grammy doesn’t like that.

    Dear Oscar,
Glad you are back to your routine now, but maybe you had better stick to Cheez its and stay out of the garbage cans ! By the way , has Uncle Matt tried those Cheez its Snap’d??? they look quite tasty also :>) Looking forward to your next adventure.
