“Pete’s Daily Connection”

Woof Wednesday

Hi guys! It’s me, Oscar the Beagle and I guess I’m supposed to say “Happy New Year!”

It’s a new year, though nobody told me what was wrong with the old one. I’m still in my same house, with the same bowl and the same food. I don’t see what’s new but all the humans were hugging and kissing each other late last night. Baxter and I just wanted to go to bed.

We had a really nice Christmas. We only ended up with three dogs here, not five like I thought. I guess Sarah’s dogs are in the Navy and they couldn’t get the time off.

(Grampy note: “My son-in-law, Steven, is in the Navy and HE couldn’t get the time off. He kept the dogs home with him. It would have been too much for my daughter to travel with two dogs and a baby. Now back to Oscar.”)

Roscoe was here for a few days with my Uncle Doug and Auntie Marla. He was here this summer so he knows how we roll.

Christmas was crazy.

Grammy put all my toys on my bed to keep me comfy I guess.

I made my own stuffed animal fort.

The humans still don’t know how I did it.

Santa was great this year. He brought me treats. Lots of treats. He knows me.

Sarah brought the baby thing. His name is Liam and he goes on walks with us. He doesn’t have a leash but he goes in a carriage thing. That seems like a pretty cool way to go on a walk. I could get used to that! He has this little seat they call “the bucket” that just goes in the stroller and the car. He was nice enough to let me try it out.

Yeah, that’s my Christmas sweater from Uncle Matt. It was nice and warm.

I kept a close eye on Liam just in case that yellow thing was tasty. I can’t wait for next year when he’ll be dropping food. I’ve already decided that wherever the high chair goes, that’s my spot!

They’re going home Friday. Baxter and I plan to sleep all day Saturday. We have been busy with all kinds of people coming over to see me. They visit with the baby too. Of course, Baxter barks whenever someone comes in. He barks and Grampy says, “Stop it!” Fine. We’ll just let anyone walk in.

We’ve had some late nights with people visiting and watching Christmas movies. That Grinch scares me.

Fortunately Grampy keeps the caffeine coming so I think I’ll make it.

Okay new year, I’m ready! What do we do now?

Woof Wednesday is the world through the eyes of 11-year old Oscar the Beagle. Oscar lives in Fairhaven with Pete, Priscilla, Uncle Matt and his best buddy Baxter the Golden Retriever.
