“Pete’s Daily Connection”

Woof Wednesday

Hi guys! It’s me, Oscar the Beagle.

I’m getting ready to take a nap. Again. It’s what I do when I’m not eating. I heard there’s going to be another storm so Baxter and I just usually sleep.

The day usually starts with Grampy getting up real slow. Even slower than his usual slow. That’s when he usually stretches and we hear him say, “Ugh. I think it’s going to rain.” And wouldn’t you know it, it usually starts to rain! I don’t know how he knows that! He’s like a Superhero or something.

After breakfast Baxter and I have to go outside. Hey! It’s been a long night. I usually run out and back quickly because it’s no fun when it’s raining hard or raining sideways like it does in some of these storms. Then the wind gets crazy. I’m afraid I could just get blown away.

The nice thing about going out on rainy days is we get rubbed down with a towel when we come back in. I like to get rubbed all over. Grampy keeps saying I need to wipe my feet but I get confused because I don’t know which ones.

Then we spend the rest of the day snug on our dog beds. Or I should day I do. They put both mattresses together one night, mine and Baxter’s, and I think they forgot them. I kinda like two mattresses. It’s so comfy.

Sometimes if it’s really stormy and chilly Grammy lights a fire in the woodstove. Ahhh! What a way to spend the day! A nice towel rub, a nice comfortable dog bed, (or two,) and a warm fire. Now if we only had snacks.

Grammy makes cookies sometimes but we don’t get any. She let’s us lick the beaters but she says chocolate is not good for dogs. Speaking for myself, I’d like to see that in writing! Says who?

In the wintertime she makes a beef stew that smells AMAZING! She puts all kinds of stuff in it and she even gives Baxter and me a chunk of the potatoes or carrots.

So yeah that’s how we spend these stormy days. We just kind of sleep, then get up and stretch, move to another spot and sleep. We look around for snacks and then sleep. Grampy usually reads or watches a movie on the TV box.

This seems to happen around this time of year doesn’t it? Just when the leaves start to change color they all get blown away.

I miss my sun spot though. Sleeping in the sunspot is almost better than sleeping near the wood stove.

wow Oscar…you and Baxter have quite the schedule ! Sleep, stretch , eat …repeat ! and go outside occasionally too. Yes, nice to cuddle up with your buddy on a stormy day especially on two beds :>) I have to agree with you about beef stew…does smell amazing! …I just made some last week …even though I live in a warm climate I still like my stew.. I hope you and Baxter are not bothered by the nor’easter and can just follow your usual ‘schedule’ :>)
