“Pete’s Daily Connection”

Woof Wednesday

Hi guys! It’s me……Oscar the Beagle and guess what? I’m in the doghouse which is a stupid phrase to apply to me because it would be MY HOUSE! My cozy, comfy place. I know. It usually means a human is in the doghouse meaning he has to stay outside or sleep outside because he’s being punished.

I got in trouble because I went into Uncle Matt’s room when I wasn’t supposed to.

Here’s what happened: After Easter dinner, which by the way smelled AMAZING, all the humans went out to see Auntie Kat’s new place. Me and Baxter were left at home. Baxter just went to sleep but I had all kinds of things running through my mind! What if they never came back? What if they decided to move in with Auntie Kat? What if they all joined the Navy like Uncle Doug? What if aliens captured them? What if they turned into Cat people? (Oh no! Not cat people!)

I figured I had to find some food to survive. So I climbed the stairs and used my nose to nudge open Uncle Matt’s door and I found a box of Goldfish crackers. Now I know, you probably think I should have saved them so Baxter and I could divide them up and ration them to last. Yeah…. but no…..I put those away pretty quick.

Then I tried to get into his waste basket but there was a cover on top. Have you ever heard of there being a cover on a waste basket? That’s un-American!

Then I chewed on a shoebox. Grammy has been asking me why I chewed a shoebox and I really don’t know what came over me. I don’t know if I was smelling a sub sandwich or what but I chewed it up. I never touched the sneakers inside but Uncle Matt was mad because I guess they were these “Game of Thrones” sneakers and he says he bought them as an investment but they were no good now without the box. I don’t understand this stuff.

He’s kind of mad at me right now so I’m trying my best sad puppy eyes to cheer him up. He says I can never go in his room again.

I blame it all on Grampy. Yeah. If he hadn’t taken everyone out after dinner I wouldn’t have gotten scared. Plus he’s the one who put all those ideas in my head because he always watches weird TV shows. AND…..if he had dropped a little more ham or some other stuff at Easter dinner than maybe I wouldn’t have been hungry. But actually, I’m always hungry.

Oh I know…..It’s Grampy’s fault because he never put a lock on Uncle Matt’s door! Yeah, that’s it my Uncle Matt’s stuff needs protection from wandering Beagles.

I’ll have to see if I can get Grampy to buy my Uncle Matt a new box for his sneakers. I don’t know what an “investment” is but maybe we can get him a new one. I usually go on Amazon after the humans are asleep.

Wish me luck.
