Woof Wednesday with Oscar

Hi guys! It’s me…Oscar the Beagle. Just livin’ the life here with Grammy, Grampy and Baxter. Just give me a sunspot and a full belly and I’m happy!

Grampy has been cooking some yummy suppers this week and he made cookies this weekend. Yeah, I help him every night, plus I’m in charge of clean up.

I do a really good job with clean up. I like to get right in there to lick the dishes before they close the dishwasher. Grammy loves that. Hey, what can I say, I’m a helper!

I also have my own position that gives me a great view of the dining room table.

You should see the stuff they put on that table at supper time! I give em my best “sad puppy eyes.” It hasn’t worked —– yet —— but I’ll keep trying.

The other night Grampy said I was snoring. I know, right? I don’t think it was me because I’ve never heard me snore. And I’m there every night.

He also told me I was dreaming! I guess my feet start going like I’m running and he laughed because, I guess, I was barking in my sleep! Kind of like a little “yip!”

Grampy said he wished he knew what I was dreaming about. I wish I could tell him. You’d think I could at least text him. After all, I write this blog every week. Oh well.

I don’t really remember the dream but I was probably running in my sleep to catch up to him or Grammy. Or maybe there was a BALL! Hey! When there’s a ball, I gotta go get It!

I figure the barking was because someone was holding a steak! Yeah! I’m sure that’s it. Or maybe I was chasing the ice cream man. I love the ice cream man. I gotta see if I can get a debit card this summer. Ah! But once again, no pockets!

Can I ask you a question?

Do you have nicknames for your pets? Grampy has a whole bunch of them for me. Sometimes I don’t even know who he’s talking to. I just respond to keep him happy.

It all started with me being called “Little Guy,” which I guess made sense because Baxter is the “Big Guy.” Then it changed to “Little Dude.” There’s also “Oscario,” which I guess he uses when he’s in the mood for Opera. “Oscar Mayer Weiner” gets used every now and then. And just about every night there’s “Bed Hog.”

For years I’ve been known as “Bagel.” Get it? The beagle named Bagel? Am I “Oscar the Beagle” or “Oscar the Bagel?”

Oh, I know! How did I ever deserve to be with such a creative genius?

I do kinda love the guy though. He gives me treats, rubs my tummy and has one THE BEST laps for nap time. Besides, Captain Clutz is fun (and tasty) to be around when he cooks.
