I found myself asking that question this week, “Why didn’t I buy two?” Two what? That would be stuffed bunnies of course.
If you’ve been with me on this journey through life, you know I bought my grandson, Liam, a stuffed bunny when he was born.

Get them all!
When I posted that picture on Facebook, many people suggested that I buy them all but I settled on the bunny. I’m happy to say that he LOVES it and won’t go to bed without it. (Yay! Score one for Grampy!)
We named him “Fred.” (It’s a long story.) Ok it goes back to a song I used to sing to Sarah, his mom, a few years ago.
Where’s Fred?
In the past month we’ve had a few occasions where we couldn’t find Fred. When Liam was younger, back when he was a kid, Fred stayed in the crib but now he makes his way downstairs in the morning. That can lead to a crisis at night, “HAS ANYONE SEEN FRED???!!!”
Last week one of us realized it would be wise to buy another Fred so that we’d always have a back up. So I checked Fred to see what company made him and it turns out it’s Manhattan Toys. A quick Google search showed me a few choices. I found this and was all excited.
Latte? What’s Latte?

It was then that my wife pointed out that Fred was grey and that bunny is Latte.
First of all… when did “Latte” become a color…. and…. I guess I need to get my eyes checked.
So then I searched and searched. No luck. We even went to the Target where I bought Fred 18 months ago —- no luck.
Oh why didn’t I buy two?
I know why I didn’t buy two of them a year ago: I didn’t know if he was going to like it. “If I knew then what I know now.”
So I have another mission in life: find a Fred. In the meantime I’ve told my daughter to always do a headcount before leaving and locate Fred. It’s not like we haven’t seen anything like this before. Sarah had a Baby Big Bird. She had to have this toy wherever she went. She still has him … somewhere. He’s 31 years old and yes, he gave us plenty of anxious moments over the years.
