Hi guys! It’s me, Oscar the Beagle and I have a confession to make. No, I didn’t eat the groceries while Grammy was bringing them in. And no, I didn’t eat all the snacks in Uncle Matt ‘s room.
I haven’t been completely honest with you. I’ve tried to keep things rosy and optimistic but the truth is I’m getting old and having some problems.
I’ve told you before how I have a sinus problem. Well that turned into chronic bronchitis and they put me on some medicine for that. The medicine is called Prednisone and I guess most people, and beagles, are not supposed to be on that for a long time. I have to or I have trouble breathing.
Now, I’m losing my fur! I’m not as bald as Grampy but I’m losing some fur. I’ve been very careful with my photo ops recently making sure Uncle Matt gets my good side. Oh and Aunty Kat is having fun buying me sweatshirts online so I won’t be cold. She’s doing that social distancing thing.
Aside from that I’ve been having some pee pee accidents in the house and Grammy has been getting a little upset about that. I’m sorry Grammy. This medicine just makes me drink a lot of water. I don’t mean to be bad it just kind of happens. She puts these special blankets down with liners so I don’t ruin her nice clean house.
So yeah …. Grammy has been saying that if they take me off the medicine my fur might grow back but then I would have trouble breathing and I guess that’s a bad thing. I don’t know much about medicine though I did watch a lot of “Grey’s Anatomy” when Aunty Kat still lived here.
We also don’t know if it would help with my having these accidents and I have to tell you that it’s quite embarrassing to write about this. Maybe I’m just getting old. I don’t want to get old. I like things just the way they are. Except for losing my fur. It gets chilly!
I’ll probably go back to try and tell good stories every week but Grampy and Grammy thought I should tell you what’s REALLY going on in my world ’cause you’re all so nice to me.
Remember: all bald jokes are to be directed to Grampy.
