Hi guys! It’s me, Oscar the Beagle, happy to announce that my humans are home!
Grammy and Grampy got back from Virginia last weekend. Now don’t get me wrong, my Uncle Matt does a good job taking care of us but he feeds us depending on HIS schedule. Some days he has work and some days he goes to that college thing so he takes care of us when he can. It took me a LONG TIME to train Grammy and Grampy to feed us when WE want them to. I have a system here! And it’s been working just fine!
I did like having the bed to myself or just me and Baxter. There was nobody rolling on to me several times a night. Yeah, I’m looking at you Grampy! I’m surprised he hasn’t squished me yet.
I did miss the guy though. Don’t tell him because it’ll just go to his head. Even if we’re not doing anything special it’s just nice to have the big guy around. He talks to us all day and sings stupid songs but that’s what makes him neat. This house is real quiet without them.
I got a text from my buddies, the dogs down in Virginia. (Yes we can text. We found this “bark-to-text” app.) Sarah has two dogs, Luke and Yoda. It turns out that Sarah didn’t get another puppy she had a baby HUMAN! They’ve been telling me all about it.
I guess Sarah had to spend a couple of nights at the new baby place because they said Grampy stayed with them for two nights while she and Steven were away. He filled up their bowls, let them outside and slept on the couch right near them. What can I say? I trained him well.
The first thing they did was bring home the baby human and put him down so Luke and Yoda could meet him. Luke was curious. Yoda didn’t know WHAT it was!
I guess it only sleeps about two or three hours even at night and then it cries. Luke is the older dog so he wakes up when it cries and runs around to get Sarah so that she can make it stop. Yoda is a beagle puppy and he doesnt know WHAT’S going on so he goes downstairs to bark in case it’s the UPS man.
Sometimes the baby needs this thing called a “diaper” changed. Luke says you never know when it’s going to happen— but —- there is no doubt about it when it does. He says he never smelled anything like it and trust me, we know smells. Sarah puts a brand new diaper thing on then, before you know it, she has to change THAT one too. You’d think they could come up with a better plan.
Luke says there’s plenty of new toys for the little human which is cool. I like toys!
I’ll get to meet this baby thing because they’re all coming up for Christmas. All the humans plus Sarah is bringing her two dogs and Doug is bringing Roscoe. All those people, a baby and five dogs! Sounds like fun!
We’re all getting back to normal now that Grammy and Grampy are home. Grammy took those boxes that make the weather cooler out of the windows and now the breeze blows in. We even go for some longer walks now because it’s not hot out and the road doesn’t hurt my feet. The leaves are falling off the trees now. I don’t know why. I hope they’re not sick.
I guess it won’t be long before Grammy buys some pumpkins. Ooh! And then she makes an Apple pie! I just like to lick the air it smells so good!
