”Raising Grampy” and Carson’s First Christmas

Hello Peoples! It’s me, Carson.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas! I did…now that I know what a Christmas is.

At Christmas, I discovered that it’s a time when you decorate your house with stuff, bring a tree inside and put lights outside. It’s also the time that Grampy watches a lot of TV shows with that Santa guy and a reindeer.

Grammy has a lot of Christmas sweaters.

This one even lights up!

We started the celebration by going to church on the night before Christmas. My whole family went up to light the Advent Candle thing. I wanted to light them but Grampy said no. He let Grammy do it.

Then we went back to Grammy and Grampy’s house and there were a lot of people there. I had my new church clothes on.

I had a vest and a bow tie. Grampy said I looked sharp. That other guy is my Uncle Matt or Uncle Hunter. Or whatever he’s calling himself these days.

I got some new toys but I had just as much fun with the paper.

Soon it was time for me, mommy and daddy to go home.

Mommy read me a bedtime story that she said her daddy used to read to her and her sister and brothers every year. Did you know that my Grampy is my mommy’s daddy? When did THAT happen? Maybe I should call him Mommy’s Daddy?

“Hey Mommy’s Daddy! Can I have a bubba?” I guess “Grampy” is easier.

The next day it was Christmas AND THERE WAS MORE STUFF!

I got a new bouncy seat for the house and it makes all kinds of noise. I like noise!

I also got a toy banana that I like to chew on.

Mommy says I’m getting more teefies. I don’t like how this feels. I think I’ll try to send them back.

Before everyone came over for Christmas dinner, mommy and daddy put me in my Christmas outfit.

Do you like the Santa on my butt?

We had a really nice day with my Uncle Matt, Aunty Jill, Mommy, Daddy, Grammy, Grampy, Papa and Gigi. There was wrapping paper everywhere!

I hope we can do it all again next week!

Now it’s something called the New Year. I don’t know what was wrong with the old year but I guess they got rid of it.

I tried to stay up until this thing called “midnight” but, first of all, I don’t know what that is and second of all, I was pretty pooped.

We probably needed a “new” year because Grampy ate all the Christmas cookies and we couldn’t keep going without some more snacks.

Silly Grampy!

“Raising Grampy” is a look at the world through the eyes of Pete’s 6-month-old grandson Carson. Carson lives in Acushnet with his mommy, daddy and his dog Kenzie.
