I’ve Determined The Best Use For Social Media Is Puppy Videos

Yes I have determined that, lately, the best use for social media is to stream puppy videos. And maybe inspirational posts. I like those too.

To be honest, I still go on social media everyday but not as much as I used to.

I use Facebook for work, as you can see by the fact that I posted a link to this blog on four different pages. Everyday I go on Facebook to see what friends and relatives are up to and to send birthday wishes. I also go on X occasionally to see what’s going on but I don’t spend nearly as much time as I used to. And when things turn negative, which they always do, I log off. I don’t need that anymore. None of us do.

And I’m not lying, I spend a good part of everyday watching cute puppy videos or reading memes.

I also enjoy motivational posts. Quite a few have been saved on my Pinterest and I follow a few friends who post some good ones daily.

Makes you think doesn’t it? And I say that’s a good thing. I would much rather read something that makes me think instead of constant posts that make my blood pressure go up.

And why do (some) people always have to look for an angle to insert an insult or their political agenda? I’ve seen posts on our town page that start out with a somewhat simple question only to turn ugly in the comments. Sometimes people are just looking for an answer and proceed to get nothing but frustration.

Recently I posted a picture that was taken at the New Bedford Cable Network studio. I had just finished an interview with magician and entertainer Bruce Kalver, a former colleague at WBSM.

I posted, “I had a mini WBSM reunion with Bruce Kalver and Jim Marshall.” Someone commented: “I hope you guys didn’t talk politics!” I thought that was just a joke so I said, “Never came up!” That was immediatedly followed by someone with an opinion and comment about the current administration.

Why? My picture had nothing to do with politics. It was just three guys who used to work together who hadn’t seen each other in maybe twenty years!

Why did we have to go there? You know what? I’m not going to go there! I learned a long time ago not to waste my time or energy arguing on social media. It’s not that I don’t like a good debate but you cannot win against a “keyboard warrior.”

I’m just going to go back to my puppy posts.

Have a good week my friend and let’s turn off the negativity.
