”Raising Grampy” is an occasional series written through the eyes of Pete’s 4-year old grandson Liam. Liam lives in Corpus Christi, Texas with his mom and dad.
Hi everyone! It’s me, Liam, and guess who came to Mickey’s Castle (aka Disney World) with me and mommy and daddy??? GRAMMY and GRAMPY!!!!!!!
Me and my mommy and daddy got on an airplane in Texas and when we got to Florida we walked down the hall and daddy said, “Keep your eyes open. You’re looking for something special.”
That’s when I saw them! My Grammy and Grampy! I was so excited to see them and even more excited when Grampy said they were going to go to Mickey’s Castle with us! Grampy even brought his blue scooter!
We got our suitcases and then went to the hotel. We had rooms right next to each other and there was a door from our room to their room so I could run back and forth all week!
The next morning we got up nice and early and went to the Magic Kingdom.
I showed Grammy and Grampy the Dumbo ride and the Seven Dwarfs roller coaster thing.
Grampy was holding on real tight!
After that I shared my Mickey Pretzel with Grampy while mommy, daddy and Grammy went on some big people rides.
We rode lots of rides that day.
The next day we went to the park with that big ball out front. Mommy says it’s called Epcot. We had breakfast with some of my Disney buddies.
DID YOU KNOW???? Grampy said he had never met Mickey Mouse! I met him last year so I made sure to introduce him.
The day was filled with more rides and snacks.
The next day mommy said we were going to Hollywood Studios where I took Grampy on the Slinky Dog Roller Coaster and then…. me and daddy made my Light Saber!
First you choose your crystal, mine was blue of course, and then you build your light saber. Mommy and daddy already have one but I had to wait until this year. I can’t wait to get back home and we can have a light saber battle!
We went on so many rides this week I can’t even remember them all. How about I just show you some of them?
And that was just some of the fun.
One morning we had breakfast with more of our friends and Grampy said he met his hero!
On our last day at Mickey’s Castle we went as soon as it opened and stayed until it closed. It was so much fun but I was wiped out by the time we got back to the hotel.
We had to wake up SO early the other day to get to the airport. It was still dark time when we left. Me, mommy and daddy got on a plane to go to Texas and Grammy and Grampy went back to Massa….Massachuchu… their house.
I had SO MUCH FUN and I got to do it with GRAMMY AND GRAMPY!!!!!!
