Hi everyone! It’s me, Liam, reporting from Massawhoosetts….or Massawhatsits…well…Grammy’s house! I thought we were just here for a sleepover but this has been a wicked long sleepover. (Grampy told me to use the word “wicked.” I don’t know why.)
Mommy told me to remind you that my daddy is away on that big Navy boat. I miss him a lot. And mommy says when he comes back we are moving to some place called Texas so we came to stay with Grammy and Grampy for a little while. We said goodbye to our house in Virginia Beach.
Then we settled in at Grammy and Grampy’s. I have my own little bed in mommy’s room.
Grampy took me to the library the first week I was here.
I call it “the castle.”
I got my very own library card. They have SO MANY books and I think my Grampy has read them all!
I also played with the puzzles. I like puzzles.
Grammy and Grampy have a lot of games.
Mommy had some silly rules for Checkers.
During the day I am so busy with chores.
Some days I wonder how they ever ran this place without me!
I also help Grampy and Uncle Matt with their show. This day mommy and I were making the stuff for Foodie Friday.
It’s been a fun summer and up here you can actually go outside! It’s too hot in Virginia Beach sometimes.
The other day it was raining and I had to remind Grampy that rainy days can be fun!
I guess I do have very busy days! Grampy says I tire him out. We usually end the day in our chairs watching Mickey Mouse.
Then it’s off to bed after I say goodnight to Grammy, Grampy and Uncle Matt. Mommy reads me one of my library books and then I say goodnight to my daddy who is off somewhere on the big aircraft carrier thingy.
“Raising Grampy” is now an occasional series looking at the world through the eyes of Liam who is 2-years old. Liam (and his mommy) are staying with Pete and Priscilla while his daddy is deployed on the USS George H.W. Bush.
