I saw a meme this week that I liked. No it wasn’t a post that makes you rethink your life or help you find a new direction. However, it was a meme I could totally agree with.
Yup! I pretty much agree with everyone of them.
- Writing with a nice pen. I thought I was the only weirdo who felt like this until I was staying with my daughter, Sarah, last year. We were making, what seemed to be, our weekly visit to Target when she said, ”Oh let me see if they have any of my favorite pens. Are you like me dad? Once you find a favorite you don’t want to use anything else.” YES! She GETS me! I don’t know exactly what makes it my favorite: The grip? The ink flow? I just know that when you find it you don’t want anyone to lose it and you don’t want to put it in a drawer with all the other pens because you’ll never find it again!
- Freshly clean sheets. Awwww! Nothing feels better after a long day than slipping into a bed with freshly clean sheets. I’m convinced that if it wasn’t so much darn work we’d change them more often.
- Cleaning the dryer lint screen. Now hear me out: this may seem crazy, but there is just something cool about how the lint just kind of stays together and sucks up all the other lint. It’s like a grown ups way of playing with magnets.
- Using your favorite spatula. Yes! It’s yours! It just fits comfortable in your hand. If you’re flipping something, you know the right pressure to apply. (Hey! I don’t get out much.) As you may know, I spent 17 months in Virginia recently and while my daughter and daughter-in-law have very nice kitchens, I missed my stuff.
- Enjoying coffee before anyone else wakes up. True confessions: I’m not the first one up anymore. After 38 years of morning radio, this boy enjoys his sleep. However, back-in-the-day I can remember the peace of being the first one up, enjoying your coffee and planning your day or just enjoying the quiet before the world wakes up.
- Having plans canceled. I can agree. I know, you might look at that and say, ”That’s unfortunate when things get canceled. What if you were looking forward to it?” I hear you. However, I must admit that there have been times in my life where something gets canceled and you can just put on your comfy sweat pants, curl up on the couch and watch a movie or read a book. If you’re younger and reading this… give it time and I think you’ll like it too.
Tell the truth…. do you agree?
