Hi everyone! It’s me, Liam, just hanging out with Grampy.
Well things are back to almost normal. Grammy and Uncle Matt and Aunty Kat are back on the FaceTime thing with me. Mommy is back at the bank and I think she has longer days now. Daddy is back at the Navy everyday. I guess he has to drive the boat a lot now. And Grampy is back to being with me about every day.
I’m happy to report that he seems to have remembered everything I’ve taught him so far.
Storytime is one of my favorite parts of the day but now I like to pick the story. Of course, I have to look at them all before I choose….and cleanup? That’s Grampy’s job.
I’m still not going to any places besides my Uncle Dougie’s house. Mommy said this weekend that she missed our trips to Target. I used to go with her and Grampy. She thought I liked the “stimulation” but I don’t even know what that is. Don’t tell her — but Grampy and I used to sneak away and play with the toys! He used to push all the buttons on the talking toys and then wonder, “Now who would do such a thing?” Silly Grampy.
I had a busy day at Uncle Dougie’s house and Roscoe was right there by my side. Guess what? Roscoe has food and water bowls just like my doggies!
Grampy kept chasing me away ….. but I would go right back! What a fun game!
After awhile Grampy tried to distract me. Yeah, I know all about that technique. (I also know how to spell “technique” apparently. ) He gave me this thing called a “coaster.”
I must have played with that for 20 minutes. I think I had tired out Roscoe by then.
I went to my favorite window to look for mommy but she wasn’t there yet. Roscoe and I love this window. It’s the perfect size to watch for mommy or the mailman if you’re Roscoe.
The next day I was back at my house. Did I tell you what daddy and I got mom for Mothers Day?
Actually daddy bought it. I still don’t know what it is. Grammy has one and Uncle Doug has one and now we do. I just keep an eye on it for now.
Oh another thing happened this week!
I think daddy broke the cabinets! Really! I had started to climb up the cabinets and I noticed that I could open and close the doors. Such great fun! Until the day it bit me. I closed one of the doors and I think it bit me! The next day daddy went around to every door. I thought he was going to tell them not to bite me anymore but now…… they don’t open! Or at least I can’t get them open. Mommy and Grampy don’t seem to have a problem but I guess I don’t have the magic word. I don’t know if I should tell mommy that daddy broke them.
I’m still working on my piano skills. Grampy says I used to play it with my feet. Silly Grampy!
I crawl around a lot now. I like to go in the kitchen especially when mommy is cooking. I notice the reflection in the oven.
Yes I know it’s a reflection. The other day Grampy said, “Are you going to kiss the baby in the oven?” Then he said, “That doesn’t sound good.” I don’t get it.
Grampy and I both have our bubba’s in the morning. I finally grabbed his the other day but I think it was empty. He says babies can’t have caffeine but he seems to need a lot of it.
So that’s what we do all day. Play with toys, crawl around, try to get the dog food.
Mommy gave me my own remote for the TV. It’s cool because I just push a bunch of buttons and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse comes on. It’s like magic! And I don’t even know which ones I’m pushing!
The other day Grampy was holding me and rubbing my back. I like it when he does that. He had just watched some news or something. He was holding me when he softly said, “I hope your generation can finally learn to love each other.” I don’t think I understand yet…..but I’ll try Grampy.
Yes I bumped my head. More than once!
“Raising Grampy” is the world through the eyes of Liam who is 8-months old. Liam lives in Virginia Beach with his mommy and daddy. Pete is visiting and working as Grampnanny.
