Hi everyone! Liam here, hanging out with Grampy.
I know I live down south here in Virginia Beach and everyone tells Grampy he’s smart to get out of New England for the winter, but we still have some chilly days here. Last week it was down in the 30s and when the temperature is down near 30 I’ve discovered that that means —— my Bear suit!
Grammy and Grampy bought me my Bear suit and it is nice and warm but Grampy works up a sweat putting me in the thing. He keeps talking about a movie called “The Christmas Story.”
Just this morning he was trying to put my arm in the other leg hole!
“Why won’t this reach?! You must have grown overnight! Oh, wait a minute!” Every day, an adventure.
Then I get my football hat, except one turn of my head and….
I don’t like it when I can’t see where I’m going.
Grampy and I went for a ride this week to a place called the library.
He likes to read so he checked into getting a library card this week. Grampy says our library is not as nice as his library back in Fairhaven.
I just know they had lots of books and, can you believe it? Not everyone of them has pictures! Why would adults want to read these things?
Mommy reads me a story every night and Grampy reads one in the afternoon and thank goodness there are pictures. I like all the colors.
Grampy was excited to go to the library. Not as excited as the day we went for Krispy Kreme donuts but still pretty excited. He was kinda pooped when we got home. He said he forgot how much “stuff” you have to bring when you go out to run errands with a baby. What can I say? That’s how I roll.
We play a lot during the day. My mommy and daddy got me some really nice toys. There is one where I can lay down and try to grab these hanging toys and I can play a piano part with my feet. Grampy let’s me play on that every day but lately I’ve been having just as much fun playing with my socks! You know…..feet are kinda neat. I try to get Grampy to play with his toes but he never seems to quite get there.
Oh and today I went shopping with Grampy. He says I gotta work on my hat collection when spring comes.
This guy….. he just wears me out.
I’ll try to keep him out of trouble for another week.
“Raising Grampy” is a look at the world through the eyes of Liam who is 4-months old. Liam lives in Virginia Beach and Pete is acting as Grampnanny.
