Woof Wednesday – Oscar Deals With The Heat

Hi guys! It’s me, Oscar the Beagle and I am so happy the hot time is gone. That was just too much!

I think I told you before how our morning usually goes: Grampy wakes up (Finally!), comes downstairs and has his coffee. Then he gets dressed after his shower and we go for a walk. Sometimes.

Baxter..(I love the guy but I don’t think his bowl is filled up to the top, if you know what I mean)…. he still wanted to go for a walk when the air was so hot! Really???? I’m sure the road would have hurt me feet! He kept barking at Grammy saying, “C’mon, let’s go!” But thank goodness Grammy said no. She said it was just too hot. Sure I didn’t like just hanging around the house smelling the same stuff everyday but the times I did go outside, I gave a quick sniff or two, did my business, then I went back inside.

We have these things in the window that Grammy turns on and the weather inside changes like THAT! I don’t know how she does it, but my Grammy can change the weather. You’ll have to ask her how she does that.

Even the humans stayed inside a lot. Grampy didn’t go for his walks, maybe the ground was so bad it would hurt his feet. I guess they did go to the beach a few times but everybody just stayed inside where Grammy kept the weather cooler. I don’t really like the beach. I don’t like to get wet. Reminds me of bath night. Ugh!

There was a big storm the other night where there were flashes of light and loud booms. Grampy wasn’t too worried about it so Baxter and I were okay. When Grampy gets worried, I’ll get worried. Then yesterday it was much nicer. Grampy turned off those weather boxes and opened all the windows. He said the house smelled like dog. Hello? Who do you think is in here??? It was nice to smell the fresh air and the ground didn’t hurt my feet.

Baxter got kinda mad yesterday. I guess Grammy and Uncle Matt went on a trip to see Sarah again because the suitcases came down from the attic. Suitcases usually mean someone is going away. We don’t like suitcases. When Grammy rolled her suitcase out to the car, Baxter went under the table and wouldn’t even come out to say goodbye. We call under the table the “clubhouse” because we can go in there and the humans can’t reach us. Except for Uncle Matt. He’s not old.

Oh Uncle Matt’s door was open the other day which I figured was an invitation. I guess Grammy left it open so some of the cool weather from his weather box would go through the house. I didn’t find any more Cheez Its. I chewed up three cardboard boxes and went through the waste basket but I couldn’t find any. I’m banned from Uncle Matt’s room. Again.

Yeah so we’re just hanging with Grampy again while Grammy’s away. He’s doing all the cooking this week so you know what that means! When it falls on the floor, it’s mine!
