Hi guys! It’s Oscar the Beagle and I have so much to tell you this week!
First we had that National Fireworks thing. Grammy and Grampy had some people over to have food on Grampy’s new outdoor cooking thing. Then they sat outside for awhile. Aunty Kat turned the air-conditioning thing on and closed the windows for us. That was nice of her. I never really heard any booms unless someone was coming in and out of the house. There is a big German Shepard who lives across the street. His name is Truth and I could hear him barking but Baxter and I just took a nap. We like naps.
I did hear some booms the next night and the night after that and the night after that. I guess some people got confused about what day it was. Maybe they had to work on the holiday.
After that we had some really hot days. Grampy turned that air-conditioning thing on for us and it was a little better. We don’t go for too many walks when the air gets hot or the road hurts my feet. If we do, Baxter’s tongue almost hangs down to the ground. He needs a pocket for that thing. Or maybe one of Grammy’s hair elastics.
This weekend we had stupid bath day. Grammy said we had to look good for company. I say, “Hey! I am what I am. What’s not to love?”
Uncle Doug and Aunty Marla came up from the Virginia Beach place with their dog Roscoe. I showed him around the house and warned him about the garbage man and that sketchy post office guy. Don’t worry, I’ll protect him.
So far we’re getting along pretty good. Baxter growled a couple of times when Roscoe got here. Baxter just likes to feel tough. He likes to think he runs things around here and I just let him. Hey, why ruin the guy’s fun? I actually run things but I let him have the glory. It’s the kind of dog I am.
Roscoe is just a couple years old and this guy never stops! I gotta print out a copy of our routine for him. It can be TV and quiet time and this guy still wants to play! I need my pre-bedtime nap!
He brought his own bed, which I immediately checked out just to make sure it would work in our house. I wanted to make sure he would be confortable.
He likes the fact that we keep the windows open and he can feel the air on his face. I guess the air is too hot in Virginia Beach and it can hurt your face.
I’ve been showing him around the neighborhood on walks. He says everything smells different and how come we don’t have fighter jets flying over the house? I don’t really know what a fighter jet is but we do have pigeons that keep pooping on Grampy’s car.
He saw a bunny the other day on our walk and he said he has bunnies back at his house. He catches them but then they don’t want to play anymore. They don’t move or nothing. Maybe they’re tired.
Roscoe is going to stay for a week or so or something. I don’t have a calendar so I guess he’ll just be here until he’s not.
Oh there was one more thing this week. Grammy got a little mad at me. They made hot dogs on that outdoor cooking thingy. When she brought the plate in she put it on the edge of the table. I thought she put them where I could reach them so I could help myself. That wasn’t the plan. I grabbed one. Grammy yelled. I had to go to the corner and sit.
Note to self: Wait until she turns around next time.
