Hi guys! It’s me, Oscar the Beagle, coming to you from a real quiet house.
Grandma, grandpy and Uncle Matt went down south to see the other kids while Baxter and I stayed home. We went with them last year but that was a wicked long car ride. It was like a hundred visits to the vet back-to-back! We only got to go on a short walk every few hours and wherever we stopped it smelled like trucks and beef jerky! Although…… I kinda like beef jerky.
Don’t worry, they didn’t abandon us. Our next door neighbors are taking care of us. Miss Marlo lets us out and feeds us and my buddies Cody and Emma, her kids, play with us a lot. Emma and Cody get down on the floor and play with me and Baxter. Grandpy never gets on the floor with us because it would take Uncle Matt and the entire Patriots front line to get him back up.
I’m sure grandpy is all worried that we’re having a miserable few days but, to be honest, this is kinda nice. It’s quiet, I get to sleep all day and don’t tell him…..but I’m sleeping on the couch! All of them! All day!
There’s been no sign of that vacuum cleaner thing, I have the whole bed to myself and I haven’t had to take a bath since Christmas!
They’re coming home tomorrow so I guess I should practice.
“Oh Hi! How are you? I missed you so much! Rub my belly!”
Sound good? I’ll just wag my tail a lot. Maybe jump up a time or two. Bark and cry. What do you think? I want him to feel wanted.
It will be good to see the old lug. Grammy takes us on nice walks. I have missed that. There’s probably all kinds of new smells around the neighborhood. I just wish I didn’t have to share the bed again. Grandpy is such a bedhog.
