Hi guys! It’s Oscar….the Beagle. Grandpa talks about me so much I thought today I would takeover his tablet. He always leaves it on the couch.
Yeah he’s my grandpa. I used to live with Sarah, she’s my mom, but when she moved into a new apartment a few years ago they didn’t allow pets.
CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT! A PLACE THAT DOESN’T WANT PETS! I can think of some people I’d like to ban. That mailman is kinda sketchy.
So I moved in with grandma and grandpa and they took good care of me. There was food, nice walks, and food……
Of course I had to share the couch with Baxter but soon I had him trained pretty good and we became the best of buds.
Wouldn’t you know it, mom got a new place but by then I couldn’t leave Baxter. He was my best friend and the big ole lug would have missed me too much. Plus, mom was still working everyday so I would have been left alone all day and I have such a busy social calendar I couldn’t see giving that all up.
I get up every morning and stretch. The Downward Dog? Yeah, I started that. I go downstairs for breakfast, go outside to smell stuff, then I crawl back in bed until grandpa gets up. I have to keep him company or else he’s lonely.
Once grandpa gets up and ready — he takes forever! — we go for a walk. My favorite walk is by a little store called Jackson’s. They give me a cookie! I think all stores should give cookies. How do I make that happen? Do I have a dog that represents me in Congress? Do I call Trump?
Where was I?
We walk and then it’s nap time. I like it when the sun spot finds me in the living room. I wonder where the switch is to turn that on?
After my nap grandma and grandpa usually have lunch so I sit under the table. I have an important job to pick up anything that falls on the floor. This place would be a mess if I wasn’t there for clean up.
After my morning nap it’s time for my afternoon nap. I’m a busy beagle.
Later in the afternoon grandpa usually starts cooking dinner and I help. He needs me. I have to get anything that falls. He’s kinda messy when it comes to cutting up the vegetables.
I’m there in case he bought too much steak and wants to give me the rest. He hasn’t done it yet but im there if he wants too.
Baxter and I have supper then, which is the greatest thing since breakfast!
I usually lay on my doggie bed in the living room while they watch that box with the pictures. It makes a lot of noise and keeps waking me up. They keep telling me to stop snoring but I dont know what theyre talking about.
After going outside about a dozen times — I have to patrol the neighborhood — we go upstairs to bed. I try to stretch out and get comfortable but grandpa is a bed hog! He tries to stretch out his whole body! Doesn’t he know you’re supposed to curl up in a ball?
Tomorrow’s another day with things to sniff and food to eat.
Now if I can only figure out a way to open that big food box in the kitchen.
