Always Say “Hi” and Yes I Like Pizza

Happy Friday Friends!

ALWAYS SAY HI!

I met a very nice lady at the grocery store today. I was just standing there at the deli when she said, “Are you Pete Braley?” I said yes and we had a little chat. She asked me how I was doing and said she still missed the morning show and I told her that I did too, every day. I don’t miss the 4am wake up call, but I really do miss that show. We had something special, a special bond that I have never taken for granted.

I love meeting people that used to listen, so please, always say Hi!

OH LOOK OUT!

I checked the news today while waiting in line. I think it’s the angle, I don’t know why his forehead is that big. Except maybe his head is that big.

I wonder where these guys will end up? (Lauer, Weinstein, etc.) I’m sure they won’t just disappear even though they have enough money to.

BEFORE I FORGET

NATIONAL PIZZA DAY
Whether it is thin crust, Chicago-style, deep dish or anything in between, pizza is an American favorite. We always have a debate in our house: I like thin crust, my son Matt says he feels like he`s being cheated, he likes a thicker crust.

I grew up with the Fay’s Knotty Pine on Acushnet Ave and Pa Raffa’s and Ma Raffa’s. Now, I like Riccardi’s. He likes Papa Gino’s or any thick crust.

KA-CHING!

I guess the trade worked out well for him. Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers reportedly agree to 5-year, $137.5 million contract, the largest deal in NFL history. A couple of thoughts:

  • Why??? Didn’t we all think he would be next-up after Tom Brady?
  • What’s Tom worth?
  • One guy does not make a team. Will they sign the tools he needs?
  • What do the Patriots do now for the future?

THIS WAS AFTER A WIN RIGHT?

Philadelphia officials say two people were stabbed, an officer was assaulted and four police vehicles sustained minor damage during the Eagles’ Super Bowl parade. Both stabbing victims survived and the two arrests were for assaults. Officials also said a Jumbotron was toppled when fans climbed it. Crews on Friday are picking up trash left behind by fans who watched the team travel in open-top double decker buses from their stadium to the art museum steps made famous in the “Rocky” movies.

SOMETIMES I JUST HAVE NO WORDS

A Massachusetts man accused of killing kittens because he was bored has been sentenced to a year in jail. Milford resident Miguel Medina threw one kitten into a wall and burned another in a fire pit, prompting his arrest last year. (Maybe they should do the same thing to him? Must have had a well-adjusted childhood huh?)

Did I mention it’s NATIONAL PIZZA DAY? JUST checking.

ENTERTAINMENT NEWS

Melissa Manchester has Dionne Warwick to thank for launching her career, and it was because of a song Warwick didn’t even get to consider recording. Manchester says she wrote the song “Midnight Blue” with songwriter Carole Bayer Sager after a conversation about their young marriages. Manchester says they were discussing how to get their husbands to communicate better. They sent the song to Warwick’s producer for her to record, but the producer liked the singer on the demo better. It was Manchester, and “Midnight Blue” was her first hit.

NICE!

I HAVE TO SAY, THIS MAKES NO SENSE TO ME

Yoko Ono has given her approval to a company that will make 12-inch-tall figurines of John Lennon. The figurine made by Molecule 8 comes with two pairs of glasses and three outfits: a black long-sleeved t-shirt, a blue shirt and velvet jacket and an Army coat. It even comes with two different heads, feet with boots or with sandals, and interchangeable hands. It will sell for $300 beginning in April.

THE THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Not everyone will understand your journey. That’s okay. You’re here to live your life, not to make everyone understand.”
